Oak's a beautiful firewood and cooking wood - it gives off a strong sweet smell even before you light it, and produces gorgeous smelling smoke as it burns. Oak wood is the most dense firewood produced in the UK, so it packs a huge amount of energy for you to turn into heat.
For all of oak's amazing properties, it needs to be very dry to burn efficiently so it gets longer in our kilns - and like all of our wood it's Ready to Burn certified, so its guaranteed to be under 20% moisture. Oak's harder to light and burns with a smaller active flame, but leaves very long-lasting embers - so we combine it with our mixed ash and beech logs.
Oak wood logs are suitable for log burners, open fire cooking and offset smokers.
